Diversify, Redundancy!

Found this brilliant quote today:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”

— Robert A. Heinlein

Diversify! Redundancy! The words seem to contradict, but they work together well. Always have multiple ways of accomplishing a task. Different ways, multiple ways.

We're so pleased you are reading Farming Salt & Light! Choose how you live!

Heinlein was a fantastic and entertaining writer. I recommend him highly.

One thing I liked about his writing was his ability to invent cultures and describe their solutions to issues. The solutions he came up with often seem out of the ordinary to me, but he can convince the reader that they would work.
